The Hon Andrew Peacock AC LLB
Chairman (Non-Executive)

The Hon Andrew Peacock AC was appointed Chairman of the Amadeus Energy Board on 1 July 2007. He has also been the Chairman of MFS Limited since March 2007. Prior to that he was President, Boeing Australia from July 2002. Mr Peacock previously served Australia's Ambassador to the United States from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that appointment he spent twenty-nine years in the Federal Parliament and during his Parliamentary career, he held eight Ministerial positions, including Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Industrial Relations, and Minister for Industry and Commerce. He was also Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Treasurer. Mr Peacock was made a Companion in the Order of Australia (AC) in 1997.

 

Geoffrey F. Towner
Managing Director

Mr Towner was appointed the Managing Director of Amadeus in 1995. Over the past 20 years he has held several oil and gas, public company-based directorships in Australia. He has extensive experience in oil, gas and agriculture in Australia and the USA, gaining vast knowledge and expertise in the oil and gas industry while living and working in Dallas, Texas from 1985-1989.

 

Caroline L. Bentley
Director and Company Secretary

Mrs Bentley was appointed Company Secretary in November 2000 and became a Director of the Company in December 2002. She is a chartered accountant and CPA with experience in the resources sector and public practice. Previous roles include Perth Manager of Finance with diamond producer Ashton Mining Ltd. She was also employed in the audit division of KPMG Peat Marwick for three years.

 

Robert N. Scott
Director (Non-Executive)

Mr Scott has served as Chairman of Amadeus Energy Ltd since 1996 and following The Hon Andrew Peacock AC's appointment to Chairman on 1 July 2007, he has taken on the role of Deputy Chairman for the Company. He is a chartered accountant and tax consultant, specialising in the mining and resources sector. Mr Scott has over 35 years experience as an adviser on corporate services and taxation and currently consults to Perth-based Gooding Pervan Chartered Accountants.

 

Peter Lehle
Director (Non-Executive)

Mr Lehle was appointed a Director of Amadeus on 1 October 2007. He has 26 years experience as a Petroleum Exploration and Development Geologist. He initially worked on exploration and development projects for major oil companies in South East Asia, North and West Africa and Australia. Since 1986, he has worked primarily with small to medium sized independent oil companies that are exploring along the Texas Gulf Coast.

 

Craig Coleman
Non-Executive Director

Mr Coleman was appointed a Non-Executive Director on 7 July 2008. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm) and is currently a senior advisor and Non-Executive Director of Wyllie Group Pty Ltd and former Managing Director of Home Building Society Limited. He has held a number of senior executive positions and directorships with ANZ including Managing Director Banking Products, Managing Director Wealth Management and Non-Executive Director of E*Trade Australia Limited.

Mr Coleman's other current appointments include Non-Executive Director of Bell Financial Group Limited and Bell Direct Limited, Non-Executive Chairman of Viburnum Funds and Chairman of Rubik Financial Limited.

 

Stephen Pearce
Non-Executive Director

Mr Pearce was appointed a Non-Executive Director on 7 July 2008. He has more than twenty years of experience in senior financial roles in the mining, oil and gas and utilities industries.  He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Secretary and previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer with Alinta Limited, an $A8 billion energy and utility company based in Perth, Western Australia. 

Mr Pearce is currently Chairman of Surtron Technologies Pty Ltd, Director (elect) of the Prime Health Group and a Member of the Business and Industry Committee of the Salvation Army (WA).

Mitchell M. Wells
Chief Operating Officer

Mitchell M. Wells

In April 2008, Mr Wells was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Amadeus Energy at the Perth head office. He holds both a Bachelor of Law (L.LB) and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm). As COO, working alongside the Managing Director, he is responsible for coordinating the planning, development and implementation of the Company’s overall strategic business plans. 

Mr Wells has extensive international management experience across a number of industries, most recently holding the role of Project Leader and Lawyer for the Anschutz Entertainment Group and The O2 in London, UK. Previous positions have included In-house counsel for The London Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games (LOCOG); In-house counsel for London’s successful 2012 Olympic bid; Visiting Attorney for Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in the USA and an Associate to the Supreme Court Judge of Western Australia.

 


Betty Dieter
President - Amadeus Petroleum Inc.

Betty Dieter

In August 2008, Ms Betty Dieter was appointed as President of Amadeus Petroleum Inc. (the Company’s wholly-owned US operating subsidiary). Ms Dieter brings more than 30 years of operational experience in the oil and gas sector to this new role. Her most recent position was Director of Acquisitions for Fidelity Exploration & Production Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of MDU Resources Group, Inc. (NYSE: MDU) where she negotiated US$1 billion worth of asset acquisitions.

Ms Dieter is a qualified accountant with both a Masters Degree in Finance and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Her previous roles include Vice-President of Operations for Hallwood Energy Corporation where she was responsible for the operation of over 1,500 oil and gas properties across nine States and the supervision of over 85 field and office staff across eight separate offices. Her property portfolio at that time included the White Eagle Project in Kansas, 85% of which is now owned by Amadeus. Prior to joining Hallwood she worked for a number of independent public and private oil and gas companies including Bellwether Exploration and Petroventures, Inc.
